Pic Prgrammer

Since my pic programmer died (see the dual power supply project page), I came up with a solution using a Digilent JTAG3 cable (which I had on hand).  After figuring out how to make it work, I left the information posted on my website, but didn't actually build a device which would allow me to easily program pic devices.  A few days ago, I decided to put it together and now I have a very easy to use solution for programming pic devices.  Here are some pictures of the programmer.

The complete schematic is shown below.  This is exactly what I built.  The LED's are helpful in troubleshooting a problem.  They also allow you to determine when the device is being programmed, and when it is finished.

please visit my JTAG3 Pic Programmer page for complete instructions on how to use this device.  The recommended program and the JTAG3.INI file for operation are there.
