This module simply made it POSSIBLE to use this chip in a breadboard. The DS2417 is a Real Time Clock (internal 32 bit register is updated every second) with an interrupt pin which can be programmed to go low at selectable intervals (from 1 second to 36.41 hours). I have only used this module once, but it sure was nice to be able to use the chip at all.
